square foot temple is made with snow white granite from Campolonghi, Italy. The
temple will server the Melbourne Braeside, Melbourne Deer Park, Melbourne Heidelberg,
Melbourne Maroondah, Melbourne Pakenham, Melbourne West, and Devonport Australia, and
Hobart Australia stakes, and the Albury New South Wales District. The temple was announced Oct. 30, 1998; ground broken March 20, 1999
and open house held June 2-3, and 5-10, with approximately 28,053 attending. It was
dedicated in four sessions by President Gordon B. Hinckley on June 16, 2000, with 5,116 in
attendance.
